Welcome to my blog!

From x stitch I moved into card making - now I am playing around with mixed media! I am taking part in different workshops and with help from crafty pals, learning about different mediums and techniques. Hope you feel inspired to create after a visit to my blog - Happy Crafting!

Art Challenge: Focal Point vs. Layering*
Journal Prompt:  Time keeps on ticking

*Your challenge is to create a focal point on your piece this week. Add layering as you choose.

I dragged a couple of distress inks over the pages.

I crumpled upa piece of deli paper that I had used as a page protector and used matt medium to stick it to the page. When it was dry I used a stencil and some distress  paint.

I used a clock image stamped onto music paper as my focal point but had but some blue paint behind it to make it stand out. I used gelatos on watercolour paper and stamped some smaller clocks on it. I used some stickers and stuck on some dylusion circles.

I went around the stickers with my stabilo and stamped the rest of the words.

Hope you are getting some crafty time today

Some wings..........

This book is an old computing book that I have repurposed.

I started off with just a dragon using the josephs coat technique. I started off with some di's and then heat embossed the dragon with clear embossing powder. I covered the whole thing with memento black and the used kitchen roll to clean off the image.

I added purple stickles to the edge of the card and found the quote online.

Hope you get some crafting done this BH weekend

September Gratitude Journal

Hopefully I will have a lot to be grateful for this month as I start my new job! I finished the old one on Friday and got a lovely bunch of flowers from work. My team mates bought me a gorgeous radley purse and a china cup saying I would rather be drinking wine.... they know me well!!

I have my September gratitude journal pages prepped and ready to go!

What are you grateful for this month?

Art Challenge: Using Old Maps, Letters, Tickets & More
Journal Prompt:  Life...with a history

I used Tim Holtz tissue as a background and covered it with Distress Paint. I added some music sheets and spare bits of tissue and then some stencilling. The ribbon is backed with a music sheet and I added some ephemera, picture from some design paper, TH ticket and a playing card. I also added some modelling paste through a stencil. I then added a train ticket from 2007 when my sis and I (and partners) travelled to London for a twin study.

Trio of Blooms

I used gesso for the white stripe on the card and stamped over this. I stamped the image again on watercolour card and used my neocolours for the flower. I cut this out and stuck it onto the card. I used my necolour for the background and added some white highlights with a pen. After taking this I decided to add glossy accents to the bottom one - I'm hoping it will look ok after it dries!

Hope you have had some time to craft

Journal Prompt:  A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

I used a combination of stamping, stencilling, washi tape, collage and pictures of cross stitch I have done. The pictures and things I create say a lot about my mood, things I like, what's on my mind and a myriad of many other things.

Background is Dylusions paint. Lavinia stamps coloured with inktense and pens, shading around  them with stabilo and water. Lavinia fairies and dylusion letters.

I'm quite pleased with this - I did think it looked a bit bare around the top but I don't want to add anymore to it :)

August Gratitude Journal

I started off with gelatos then used a credit card to scrape paint about the pages, lilacs, blues and silver. I then did a masterboard and cut the pieces out of that.

What are you grateful for today?
