Olive Owl

it's not really, it's certain celery..it just sounded better... :)

The lovely Purple Princess set the sketch and theme for this weeks challenge on the CMLI group on Craftbubble and the theme was monochromatic. Determined not to use black I had a flash of inspiration about this punch and CC ink and card
stock.

I have also managed to shoehorn a lot of unused items on this card (owl punch, flower punch, leaf die and background stamp!). How good am I ??

Sittin on top of the world..

well that's what my oh thought when i showed him this card!! The lovely Karen chose the theme for this week's sketchie over on the CMLI group.

The theme was 'get your baubles out' and luckily I had just bought a new Penny Black stamp which was perfect for the challenge!

Karen has decided all her dt slots on the group will be Christmas cards so there is no last minute panic!

I used my newest Martha Stewart corner and edge punch which I love!

Sketchie Challenge

Hello to my new follower and Thanks to all those who regularly leave comments!

Some of you will know that I am part of a group on a craft forum (Craft Bubble) and we have a regular Dt and Gdt slots (mine is coming up!!!). This week's sketch and theme was set by the lovely Lauren (DT) who set the theme as 'take it as red'. So many different options to choose from! I have already started my oh's valentine card but I know he checks my blog out so that will have to be finished and then posted after V day. Even tho was we walked into Tesco last night he uttered...Oh Crap! as he saw all the stuff for V day. He honestly does not know the date of it! Ho hum..anyway onto this card.

I'm such a sucker for balloons on a card! Sorry about the quality of the pics, it isn't picking up much of the shading on the bear but maybe it's overshadowed by the red!

Craftathon 2012

Long post - maybe get a cuppa??

Well what a fabulous weekend! I met up with my crafting pals who I know from Craftbubble .(Kathy, Cherry and Wynneth). This year we had  2 more crafters join us, it was lovely to meet Nicola and Clare and we were already talking about next years event!
It was organised by Kathy aka Purple Princess , who found us a hotel and booked a church hall for us to craft at, thanks again Kathy!

HOW MUCH STASH?!?!

Kathy, Clare and Cherry also did some demo's for us, supplying all the equipment and helping (me) to overcome some crafting fears!!

First all all Clare supplied a canvas for us all and showed us different ways to decorate it. Thank goodness for gesso as I hated my first attempt! We were asked to pick a focal image and bring papers/embellishments to match prior to the weekend and I had the idea of a boudoir themed canvas :).

I will be entering this into the following challenges;

The Cutie Pie Challenge - anything but a card
Stamp with Fun - Love
Lexi's Creations - Love
Cupcake Craft Challenges - pink and red
Craft your Passion - anything goes with no design paper
Stamps R Us - Love/Valentine
Dream Valley Challenge - Valentine
Really Reasonable Ribbon - red and pink with ribbon
Addicted to Stamps - Love/Valentine
Sweet Stampin Challenge  - The one I love
One Stop Craft Challenge - For the one I love

Next up was Kathy...she gave us some gloves to wear and supplied glossy paper, buttons,cd's and seam binding ribbon...we got messy with alcohol inks and had a fab time!

Cherry gave us the last demo and it was shrink plastic...oh no!! The two hearts were die cut and stamped with alcohol inks and then attacked with a heat gun! Thanks to Cherry for saving my first attempt from being a ball of plastic!!

Some of the creations from craftathon.

I have watermarked it as unfortunately there are some unscrupulous people who steal others work.

Special thanks to Kathy who helped me with embossing paste and hopefully I will get a chance to show you some examples over the next week!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what we got up to!

Congratulations on your new home!!

Now that I know this card has arrived I can blog it! A friend has recently moved house along with her menagerie of chickens and dogs,  oh and family of course! I thought a celebration card was in order and decided on this delightful LOTV image as I think she looks like she is skipping/dancing with delight!

Cheers!

My Mum asked me for a couple of male cards as she had to buy one and she said they were pants!! I rustled up some uber quick forever friends bear with a champagne glass. I have used this before for Father’s Day cards and think it’s perfect for men’s cards.I also kindly put a handful of other cards in the post for here..I better make sure I have enough birthday cards for the exchange!!
