Welcome to my blog!
From x stitch I moved into card making - now I am playing around with mixed media! I am taking part in different workshops and with help from crafty pals, learning about different mediums and techniques. Hope you feel inspired to create after a visit to my blog - Happy Crafting!

Wings #3
I feel slightly 'meh' about this page but showing it anyway.
I think it's because the stamps are crappy - ah well

One word prompt - Wings
The new one word prompt on our craft group was Wings. Luckily I had been shopping and lunching with a crafty pal and had the perfect new stamp!
I used modelling paste and my zig watercolour pens with a spray of water for the colour wash effect.
The wording reads 'the pretty little birds chirped' - beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all!!

Mandala Stencil
I bought this new stencil recently and was eager to try it out - luckily I also had the Tim Holtz 'snarky' set for a perfect quote.
It reads - Confession: my yoga pants have never been to yoga

Watercolour Face
I joined a free art retreat recently and this was one of the lessons - what I didn't do was draw with my non dominant hand because quite frankly it's dodgy enough with my dominant one. The teacher made it look easy and her face was great considering!
I drew with a stabilo and went over it with a watercolour brush.

Art Journal Balance #3
Stamping over gesso, neocolours then squares of gelli prints added and shaded with stabilo.
When we focus our blessings
It creates an appreciative heart
And adds a strong sense of balance
To our lives

Balance Journal Page #2
Gesso'd page with neocolours and stamping over the top. Bit of doodling with a white paint pen.
Life is about balance
Be kind, but don't let people abuse you
Trust but don't be deceived
Be content but never stop improving yourself

More Circles
Another art journal page
Stencilling, neocolours , some stamping, a lid to create the circles then a mix of paint inside them. Words are Tim Holtz 'snarky' - Forecast for today; unproductive with a chance of a nap.

Art Journalling - Circles
I created circles with dylusions paint and used it again for stencilling. I stamped inkadinkado stamps and paperartsy stamps and used some glass bead glitter gel through a stencil. Finally I chose a quote I liked, printed it and went around it with neo colours crayons and a wet brush.

More 2018 Cross Stitch Finishes
This was going to be the year of finishes but I still ended up having lots of new starts...oh well!
I have had a Lizzie Kate theme going on ever since they announced their retirement - so sad to see them go as I love their charts!

Art Journal - Resonate
I enjoyed our last journal word challenge so we did it again!
This time I chose the word Resonate.
I started off with modelling paste through a stencil then used my inktense blocks to create drippage. They were not very vibrant so I added to them using my dylusion sprays. I added some music paper and some stamping and added the quote I liked. The word Resonate was stamped on tissue paper then glued down with matte medium. I used my black neocolour around the printed text and used a waterbrush to create shade.

Art Journal - Summer
Following our craft retreat myself and a few others carried on with the idea of coming up with a word to journal about - Kathy picked Summer.
I went with warm colours (dylusions) and added some stamping and stencilling. I found a quote with the word Summer which also incorporated my love of reading.
What does the word Summer bring to your mind? Happy Summer Solstice day for yesterday everyone :)

I am carrying on with CCN's Farmhouse Christmas although I won't be doing the Granny Squares Piece which looks like a patchwork quilt - here are the other pieces I have completed.

Craft Retreat
Very picture heavy! Get coffee!
It was our annual craft retreat and this year it was organised by Cherry who had the fabulous idea of hiring a house. Normally we stay in a hotel and have to hire a hall. It cost us the same to hire the house as it would have for the hotel.
Lots of crafting took place
Some art journalling
Mermaids and fairy doors
Art journalling challenge - Shine
Alcohol inks
Gelli prints
Riveting atc's
Art journalling - theme - friendship
More alcohol inks
It was a fabulous weekend catching up with crafty friends and maybe a little of this
