Book of Days Week 11

I have skipped ahead to week 11 - I'm not sure that I will do week 8/9 and I can't decide on my favourite song for week 10.

Week 11 was entitled boundaries and was about people overstepping what is deemed as acceptable and making personal comments/judgements about others.

It made me think about a comment that someone told me another person had said about me.. it wasn't particularly cruel/nasty just a trait I didn't identify with. I spent far too much time dwelling on it and being affected by it.

I started off by getting it off my chest - writing with neocolour crayon on top of watercolour paper coated with gesso. (words pixelated out)

I went over with more neocolour and used a wet brush to blend it out.

I then brayered hot pink and metallic blue paint over the top.

I saw this quote on pinterest and it really resonated with me. I went around the lettering with copic spica pens which are lovely and glittery. I added some white highlights and some stamping.

Catherine led me to a new mixed media challenge called stamps and stencils so I have decided to enter my make into their first challenge, which is anything goes.

Hope you all have some crafty plans for the weekend

gorgeous colours and I love how you've written your journalling and hidden it - such things are always best left elsewhere aren't they? You have done such a wonderful job here with a fab background and really funky lettering.Thank you so much for bringing that quote out too - I need to remember it! Thanks so much for joining us at Stamps and Stencils. Julia x
