Welcome to my blog!

From x stitch I moved into card making - now I am playing around with mixed media! I am taking part in different workshops and with help from crafty pals, learning about different mediums and techniques. Hope you feel inspired to create after a visit to my blog - Happy Crafting!

JOFY Workshop

I was lucky enough to attend a Jo Firth-Young workshop yesterday to make Christmas cards. It was very festive with crackers on the table, Christmas trees, santa hats and Michael Buble crooning in the background. Jo was lovely and it was a great workshop. The Stamp Attic is a fabulous shop with lots of stuff that is normally only available on line (PaperArtsy, Dina Wakely, Dyan Reaveley, Octopode).

We made 5 cards altogether.

The first card has a bauble on foam pads and some green wire around the top of the bauble. The second is gilding flakes,

The first card is a die cut snowflake on patterned acetate and the second picture is the stamping inside. The second card we painted the baubles and raised them on 3d foam.

As lovely as this die cut is - it took 3 attempts to cut it out so all the pieces came out - I have used stickles on this card but you can't really make them out.

My stash

I went around the shop first and put some things to one side - I didn't realise until I got home that I had bought the stars stamp twice!

These are the first Christmas cards I have made this year but hopefully it is the inspiration I need to make more!!

FAB makes, FAB stash and it sounds like you had a blast. Bought the same stamp twice? I'm sure your purple pal might be persuaded to buy it from you if you want to get rid of your duplicate!
