ArtDoodleLove Book - Fibro

In case you can't read it..

Fibro - I can't decide ?

Are you a friend telling me to slow down or a petulant child who stamps it's feet if ignored?

Probably brought on by stress at work but now i'm feeling stressed as I'm off work and under pressure to go back as they are under staffed - lose lose situation really....

Any advice gratefully received xx

More Junk Journal/Journal 52

Weeks 5 & 7

Out of order and I still have week 6 to do.

Week 7 When I grow up...

Background is bits of scrap paper - acrylic paint and black gelato around the edge. In case you can't read it - When i grow up I want to be taller and have lots of shoes..

I have used the backing of sticker packets for both of these pages - more junk journal/upcycling!

Week 5 - Abstract Art - there was lots of debate about what this actually meant - I went with the theory that it is a distorted version of something

Again using up scraps and offcuts and pics cut out of a magazine.

Mail Art

I joined a mail art swap with some crafting buds and have been blown away with their samples. I was really trying not to overthink it and ended up just grabbing some of my fave stamps and a mix of versafine/versamagic and new hero arts inks.

The theme is bright and cheerful so I'm thinking about colouring the back in..

Dylusions and Lavinia stamps.

More Lavinia, craftwork cards and indigo blu stamps

Clean and simple to the front , crazy stamping and washi to the back

Hope your weekend is going well

Journal 52 Week 6 The Art of Love Letters

Yes I know I have missed weeks 4 and 5 but I will get to them!

On a chipboard board covered with gesso and pastels. I used a kaisercraft alphabet stamp with the versamagic chalk inks. In an attempt to use us some of my unused stash I have put love sticksrs on and two wooden hearts. I used red acrlic paint through a heart stencil and used lavinia heart stamps with SU! ink. I used 2 Tim Holts tickets and a wire heart also from stash. I still have lots of bits and pieces to use up!

Also my gratitude journal that I am trying to keep up with - my Feb page

Lime green and pink acrylic paint with stencils and sequin waste hearts. I cut up some hearts from all those fiddly bits of paper I had lying around

Brighid - Fire of Inspiration (Lesson 3)

This is the 3rd lesson of moonshine - Brighid is the goddess of February

The Brigid first worshipped in ancient times was the daughter of the great Irish god Dagda, the 'Good Father'. She had two sisters who were also named Brigid. Taken together, they were called the 'Three Mothers', 'Three Sisters', or simply the Goddess Brigid.
Unlike in Greek mythology where the Triple Goddess represented the three chronological stages of a woman's life (Maiden, Matron, and Crone), the Bridgets were all of the same generation and the distinctions between them were based on their domains of responsibility.
  • Brigid, the 'Fire of the Hearth', was the goddess of fertility, family, childbirth and healing.
  • Brigid, the '"Fire of the Forge', was like the Greek goddess Athena, a patroness of the crafts (especially weaving, embroidery, and metalsmithing), and a goddess who was concerned with justice and law and order.
  • Brigid, the 'Fire of Inspiration', was the muse of poetry, song history and the protector of all cultural learning.

She is a mix of derwent coloursoft, inktense blocks, watercolour pencils and chalks. I am actually quite pleased with how she turned out even though I wanted her hair to look more 'flamey'!

I am working in a Strathmore mixed media journal and seems to be ok - this page took quite a bit of water but the other side does have acrylic paint on.

Hope your week is starting off well!

Wolf Moon - Lesson 2 Moonshine

I started out with a background of blue and purple acrylic paint and flicked white paint on it for stars.

I am not very good at drawing faces (I need much more practice - unlike my friend Clare who draws gorgeous girls!)

I put some gesso on a book page and drew my lady - I was anxious about messing my page up so decided to draw it on something else. I painted her with acrylics and sketched my wolf on a similar page.

I added a light rosy colour on her cheeks  - I did watch a tutorial that Clare did on shading but couldn't shade very well over the acrylic paint. Next time I may try with pencils until I get a bit more used to shading - I have watched Effy Wild and Tamara LaPorte (?sp) and they make it look so easy!!!

Hope you weekend is safe, dry and crafty!

Journal 52 - A Simple Place

Orange dylusions on watercolour paper. Printed pictures of 2 libraries and 2 bedrooms. Washi tape and kaisercraft washi tape stamps. The background orange has bled through onto one of the pictures but I wonder if that was the glue I was using...

Simple places to relax, unwind and lose yourself :)
