Dog of The Week

  This lovely lad is Tubey!
Tubey is a boy who has only had 2 races - he was not interested in racing only in playing and therefore was asked to leave - he has been described as being a lively loving boy but in view of his age you would expect him to be like that as he is only just 2 years of age (just passed being called a puppy)
Tubey has not been tested with domestic dogs or cats
If you can offer this lovely boy a home please visit here

Pink Fridays

I'm joining Clare for Pink Fridays!!

This is what she has to say about it..

I have decided to make a pink project to celebrate Pink Friday's throughout October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Would anyone else like to join me, whether for 1 week or all 4 and help spread the word about how important breast awareness is...no matter how old you are! Whether you like pale pink or hot pink, a little or a lot of pink anything goes! If so link up here and pass it on (post this button on your blog please):

Do you want to join the party?

Look what I found in my crafty stash....

A bobunny chipboard journal and extra pages which I have already covered in gesso and 2 handbag shaped journals

6 x 6 journal with plastic sleeves in...lots of them!

A box for a dvd set which was going to be recycled - there is gesso on it already - I just need to come up with something interesting to do with it!

This will keep me out of mischief for a while!

I am the shadow

A Mixed Media Colour Challenge has picked a lovely colour palette this week so I decided to have a go!

I decided to use this lovely octopode stamp my sister got me - she is stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with zig art watermarkers.

I put some gesso on some chipboard pages I found hiding in my stash and went over it with pastels. I then used versamark and white embossing powder for this fabby tim holtz stamp and wenr over it with the zig marker (very watered down).

I did some background stamping with memento london fog but the grey doesn't show up so well.

I stamped the sentiment in london fog - except for the word moon , which I stamped in staz-on purple - I went around the letters with staz-on purple then a black marker pen. I then put some purple gilding paste around the edges.

The sentiment is a line from the Halloween Town song from a Nightmare before Christmas.

Lesson 6

I have been following Clare's lessons - from card making to art journalling and lesson 6 is about using oil pastels. - I bought some and then realised I didn't know what to do with them so asked Clare. We were to use die cut shapes and then add a silhouette focal point.

I thought I would use some chipboard letters to get rid of some unused stash - forgetting how thick they were compared to die cuts so I couldn't really put a silhouette focal point. I die cut some flowers and a heart to go with the sentiment.

I did think about throwing it away but there are no mistakes in art.....apparently.

Hope your Saturday is going well!

Dog of the Week

This week it's the lovely Bob!!

Bob is a very good looking boy with a happy loving nature - he is very clean within the Kennels - has only had 5 Races and last raced on the 08.06.2013 - Bob has not been tested with domestic dogs or cats

Bob is very strong on the lead and it is thought he would be better suited to a family where the main walker would be a strong male as it is thought that Bob would be too strong on the lead for a female

As part of our 'Little Things Swap' we are also decorating the box we all got to send the gifts in. I have already received my box from the lovely Kathy and I didn't purposefully set out to match the colours. It just kind of happened..

I went with dots, spots and stars for mine.

This is the lovely lot I received from Kathy..

Embrace the mess.....be the mess.......

I bought a relatively cheap journal when I went to Newbury with crafty pals, as I didn't trust my inner 'art journaller' .. seems I was right!

I gesso'd the first page in all my enthusiasm getting all over the cover, some of the other pages and basically having a gloopy mess around the edges. I bought some cosmic shimmer mists and had a play with them but one of them just piddled everywhere until oh took the spray bit apart and unblocked it (blow don't suck)

hmmm not how I expected it to be..

so I painted over the whole thing with acrylic paint - trying the cover the splodgy bits around the outside...

the white you can see is the page behind it honest!!

I decided to embrace the messy and put some ink splats on, lettering is Lindsay Mason. Really not how I expected my first page to look but ho hum!

Mixed Media Colour Challenge #6

LOVING this colour mix!

I started off by stamping the grid (kaisercraft) in memento london fog. I used a Bo Bunny background stamp for the dots stamped in memento Angel Pink and Visible Image Splats stamped in versamagic Pixie dust

The dark pink squares are acrylic paint and the light pink one is Zig art and graphic watercolour marker. The image is Crafty Impressions stamped in versafine black with the sentiment masked off in all but the middle one.
