Welcome to my blog!

From x stitch I moved into card making - now I am playing around with mixed media! I am taking part in different workshops and with help from crafty pals, learning about different mediums and techniques. Hope you feel inspired to create after a visit to my blog - Happy Crafting!

Happy Birthday

If you have been following my blog you will know that one of my fellow crafter's (Clare) is providing a free online course ' from cardmaking to art journalling'. I had bought myself some new 'background' stamps and decided to try a new technique. I used a sheet of water colour paper and a craft mat  - I put some distress inks down and sprayed them with water and then swooshed the paper all around. After that was dry I stamped over it..

After getting more inspiration from Clare I die cut some pieces for a card and have also used some for a dt project.

Not entirely how I planned it but there you go! I have used 2 of my new dies as well and the sentiment is from a new set.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

Simply Create Too - Anything Goes
Moving Along With The Times - Birthday Card

Hope the snow is not too bad where you are - I did have an online shop ordered but asda rang and said they were cancelling them all today. We went to another supermarket (where the staff were packing stuff up for online deliveries!!)  when it had only been snowing for a couple of hours so it wasn't too bad - and there was plenty of bread and milk on the shelves. Keep safe and warm.

Hi Debs I so love how you have created that magical looking background, I have tried different techniques but they never turned out like this, the black really helps it stand it, a super, super card.
