Snippets, Charity Cards and Less is More
After making my Dt card I had some bits and pieces left over and decided to make another card for the Less is More Challenge. After making it I wished I had moved the bottom piece higher and I still had more scraps left, so here is what I did….
I batch made some c6 cards with the bottom piece higher and a punched heart in the corner. These will go into the cancer research bags to raise money. They sell these in the local shops for £1 each, what a great way to raise money for charity!
I will be entering this card into the following challenges;
Less is More - button or ribbon

Sunday’s Challenge
is also set by me over on the CMLI group on Craftbubble! Now if you play your cards right you can link to Less is more (button or ribbon or mixtures of both) and Jules snippet challenge which is what I will be doing when I drag myself out of bed tomorrow (scheduled post!)
So the challenge is… to use up your snippets! Jules set’s this challenge every week to encourage us to use our scraps up – WHAT A FABULOUS IDEA! – instead of having them cluttering up the place, use them. As I am fairly new at crafting still, I have NOWHERE near the amount that Jules has, she has colour coded boxes!!!!
These snippets are obviously from a forever friends set, buttons from stash, sentiment won as blog candy and punch is SU!.
Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Clean and Simple
This week at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges the theme is clean and simple. The general definition of this is clean white (or other colour) space and minimal embellishments. Put that bling and frippery (is that a real word?) away and show us something simple.
For my card I used the Calla Lily Set from the shop, included in the set is individual flowers and leaves so you get a selection of images to choose from!
Coloured with promarkers,
Embossed with cuttlebug strip.
Rik rak ribbon from the Ribbon Girl.
Corner punch by Martha Stewart.
I must admit to not knowing much about flowers apart from what a rose and tulip looks like, but I was convinced calla lilies only came in white! Before I coloured my image in my sister bought me this lovely gift…
Calla lilies in dark purple!! I googled the images and they come in all sorts of colours! I opted for dusky rose as I just love that colour!
Ok , you can use any image you want but if you use a Digi Doodle image your entry will count twice, and these lilies are just perfect! Don’t forget to visit the Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team have created!
I will be entering this card into the following challenges;
Less is More - circles (2 circles - the image and the backing)
Allsorts Challenge Blog - free and easy

You are a star!!
We are celebrating a one year anniversary for the Craft Mad and Loving It Group over on Craft Bubble, Happy Birthday to us!!
I decided not to go for a typical birthday card but to celebrate the fact that everyone in the group is a star, we all support each other and there is always someone who is willing to listen!
I used a fizzy moon image and put as many stars on as possible! I tried to make the top of the star darker to give the impression that it was leaning back slightly.
This is for all our stars in the CMLI group, you are wonderful!
Die cut dreams - animal antics
Cupcake Crafts - wish upon a star
Craft your Passion - text it
Ruby's Rainbow - happy birthday
Inky Impressions - distressing
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
I Love Promarkers - 1 ribbon, 2 dp's, 2 gems (does it matter there are 4 gems, please delete if so)
Charisma Cardz - its in the stars
Paper cutz - it's in the skies
Allsorts - free and easy
Sketch Saturday - fab sketch
sorry about the massive gap, it's not there in preview..everything is really close together!!

Following in Kathy's steps....
I have been thinking about not entertaining blog awards for a while, maybe putting the ones i already had in a tab. I feel they are time consuming, slightly intrusive and you have to pass them on for someone else to deal with..in a way they are like texts/emails that you have to pass on to everyone in your phone book/email list. I hope no-one is offended, the information i put on my blog is what i choose, not because an award wants to know what colour underwear i have on today.,,please don't be offended but no thanks x

Strength and Hope
*2nd post of the day - please scroll down*
This is a new stamp set from Stampin Up! and every set that is bought they donate £1 or equivalent currency to breast cancer care. Far too many people I know have been directly or indirectly affected by breast cancer. My mum is 12 years clear this year, (we had a party at ten) so I try to support it as much as I can. I can't decide whether to give the card to my SU friend to promote the set or give it to someone..anyway, enough babble.. here are the pics, sorry one of them is blurry. I am entering it into the Less is More Challenge. The challenge is circles.
Special thanks to Kathy for the sequin waste!

Shabby chic..or just shabby??
This butterfly is from the SU! breast cancer set, stamped in Tim Holtz dusty concord and the swirls are stamped with milled lavender with a Debbie Moore 'swirl' set. I do love the way these inks raise slightly!
Papers are Pink Petticoat
Ribbon from stash
Pearls from stash
Edges are distressed with Tim Holtz ‘distresser’
This sketch was set by the lovely Lauren on craftbubble, in the CMLI group. There is a new sketch every Saturday so I am a teeny bit late!( The new one is out today). The theme of course is shabby chic , I'm not sure if I have done it justice! I do like the butterfly and the swirls though The beads are actually purple but they look red/black in the picture.

Play Date!
After seeing the lovely Stampin Up stuff on the web I decided to google and find if there were any demonstraters in the area. Imagine my surprise, when I found the lovely Carole who is based in Oxford, only lived 5 mins away! I became a follower on her blog and saw she was going to be at Newbury on Saturday, so we would miss each other as I was going Sunday. It turned out she was there Sunday anyway but hey ho, I left a message on her blog and she invited me around to make a card this afternoon. If you check out her blog she made some lovely butterflies from toilet roll! You would never guess to look at it and it just shows how resourceful crafters are! Here are the pics on my make and take today!
They were misted, dried and cut out and then embossed, aren't they lovely!
I also made a card following Carole's instructions, any wobbly bits are entirely down to me!
Those that know me , know I have hurt my neck and have been suffering for a few weeks. Carole has created an acrylic panel with foam pads which makes it much easier to stamp! I haven't put a pic on in case she wants to patent it :) but you can contact her on her blog if you are interested.
So thank you Carole for making me feel so very welcome and giving up some of your afternoon to do a make and take!
