Welcome to my blog!

From x stitch I moved into card making - now I am playing around with mixed media! I am taking part in different workshops and with help from crafty pals, learning about different mediums and techniques. Hope you feel inspired to create after a visit to my blog - Happy Crafting!

Lakeside Needlecraft Fantasy Stitchalong - November Circle

I'm cutting it fine as the next one is released the first of December but November has flown by (and we had family staying for a lot of it).

People have made amendments to it, some brits have added a poppy and some americans have added a pilgrim hat. I was happy with him as he was.

Matchbox Swap

I hosted a matchbox swap last month and realised I hadn't blogged it. One of our crafty pals die cut the boxes for us all and we decorated them and sent them to our swap buddies.

I made a masterboard and cut the cards down and added the words.

I hope my swap buddy liked it as much as I did.

The first one is called Katie Kitty.

I have decided to stitch them separately and make them into ornaments.

This one is a fantasy stitchalong and is a collaboration between Durene Jones (designer) and Lakeside Needlecraft (shop).

The background and border were released on July 1st.

There are 12 circles and a fantasy character will be released each month. August release was Pegasus.

Charlie Bear Sampler

One of the cross stitch forums that I am a member of has an alphabet stitchalong on the 26th of each month and I thought I would use this opportunity to start (and finish) a teddy bear sampler that I have have had for some years.

Lizzie Kate 'Spooked' Myster Sampler

I have taken part in a mystery sampler by the designer Lizzie Kate - it is a mystery as you don't know what it looks like until the chart arrives. It is in 3 parts and we are all anxiously awaiting the last part.

Part 1

Part 2

The blue lines are where I gridded the fabric to make life easier. One more part to go and then it will be finished!

Crafty Ideas Workshop

Yesterday saw myself and 3 other crafty pals heading to a mixed media workshop hosted by Crafty Ideas (used to be The Pink Tulip).

We were working on canvas and had this sample for inspiration

We used different techniques including stencilling, stamping, embossing and gilding foil.

The leaves are stamped and embossed on card, acetate and copper sheet. We used modelling paste through the stencils then sprinkled embossing powders over them. The picture was taken at Thoresby Hall a few years ago where we had a lovely week and fantastic weather.

Crafters at work!

Thanks for a lovely day ladies

Journal 52 - Week 31

Week #31
Alternate Prompt ‘Letting Go’
Create a spread that expresses something you need to let go of. Start by writing it all out and then painting over it, if that works for you.

Journal 52 - Week 30

Week #30
“Mirth”
Explore the word ‘mirth’ and what it means to you. Create a spread about mirth as it shows up in your life. If you prefer, substitute the words ‘laughter’ or ‘fun’.
