Dog of the Week

Can anyone offer this gorgeous boy a home?

This is Ricky!

Ricky has a very quiet loving nature he just loves to be cuddled - he last raced in December 2012 having had 100 + Races - it is thought that Ricky is good pet material because of his good nature - he has not been tested with domestic dogs or cats

Minibook

Over on the Craftbubble Forum, Clare has set up an exchange over summer called the Little Things. We alter little things and swap them in a  small box/altered matchbook at the end.

The first Challenge was to make a minibook. I followed Clare's tutorial and this is the finished book.

They are made with Tim Holtz's alphabet cards covered with acrylic paint.

I overstamped with a crackle stamp then used a flower stamp and embossed in white embossing powder. I then added small beads to the flowers.

Ribbons and bead were added to the jumprings for decoration.

I am enjoying exploring mixed media and have completed another Journal page on Clare's tutorials - From Cardmaking to Art Journalling (lesson 5)

Hope your week is going well!

Fairy Glen

This card was inspired by techniques I saw at Newbury with my new Lavinia and Majestix stamps..I'm reasonably happy with it but we are our own worst critics!

I used DI's for the background, a mix of blues and purples and then used majestix and craftwork cards stamps for the flowers/leaves and the mushroom and fairy are lavinia.

I used liquid pearls with a new glitter recommended by the lady demo'ing for lavinia - it's meant to give it more dimension - it has a funny nozzle and the glitter goes everywhere so that is coming off when I use it again.

I hope you are having a relaxed, crafty and somewhat cooler sunday!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

One Stop Craft Challenge - Make your own background

Queen of Art

This is my make from our workshop at Snazzy's. I was waiting to get some sepia accents as the script was plain white and looked far too stark.

I loved the gilding wax we used (the gold on the embossed panel) and have got some (made by a different company) and am looking forward to playing with them.
