Snow Sledge

Over on Craftbubble (CMLI Group) Kathy has set up a 'rudolph day challenge', this idea is Sandra's but it is being run slightly differently as in we take it in turn to hosts and will set a theme and/or a sketch.

Kathy is setting the challenge for January ' Take  lots of glitter, add a button, a stamped image and some patterned paper and simmer till a card comes out!'  You have the choice of using the theme/sketch or both.

I followed the sketch and theme but left out the button - I'm sure many other crafters have unfortunately found this out but if you send a card in the post with a button on it never arrives. Our bestest guess is that some miserable scumbag thinks there is a pound coin inside and helps themselves to it.

Anyway enough talk...here is my entry using one of the Barry Winter set from StampFairy!

 Nesties
Promarkers
Glamour Dust
Card Candi and Sentiment from Craftwork Cards
Martha Stewart Corner Punch
Papers by Papermania 'Noel'

You probably can't make it out but some of the papers are glittered :)

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

Christmas at Sweet Stampin - Cold and Frosty
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Lavishly Luscious Layers
Always Playing with Paper - Tic tac toe (designer paper, colour with markers, snow)

We should have put gesso on top of the book page but I didn't have any so used white ink instead. When it dried it was translucent but it managed to stop my di's drying on top of the page - nightmare!! Oh and if anyone knows of any decent white ink that stamps properly please let me know!

For a how to video follow the the link above - you will also see a much better journal page than mine but then Clare is teaching us!

Happy Birthday

If you have been following my blog you will know that one of my fellow crafter's (Clare) is providing a free online course ' from cardmaking to art journalling'. I had bought myself some new 'background' stamps and decided to try a new technique. I used a sheet of water colour paper and a craft mat  - I put some distress inks down and sprayed them with water and then swooshed the paper all around. After that was dry I stamped over it..

After getting more inspiration from Clare I die cut some pieces for a card and have also used some for a dt project.

Not entirely how I planned it but there you go! I have used 2 of my new dies as well and the sentiment is from a new set.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

Simply Create Too - Anything Goes
Moving Along With The Times - Birthday Card

Hope the snow is not too bad where you are - I did have an online shop ordered but asda rang and said they were cancelling them all today. We went to another supermarket (where the staff were packing stuff up for online deliveries!!)  when it had only been snowing for a couple of hours so it wasn't too bad - and there was plenty of bread and milk on the shelves. Keep safe and warm.
