Celebrate for Father’s Day

Although I kept seeing the challenge blogs with themes of Fathers Day I completely forgot until my oh pointed out our cards needed to be posted in the next few day…..Oooops!
I had an idea a while ago for one of my stamps and then got some more inspiration from my craft bubble buddy Kathy after seeing her use memento rich cocoa.

I had some cream deckle edged cards that had been languishing in my drawer for a looong time and thought it would be perfect for using with the rich cocoa. I hadn’t meant to cut and layer my little teddy, I originally stamped straight onto the card..but being me I had a smudge mark!

I used a papermania folder for the background layer then used a Stampin Up! sentiment and I’m actually really pleased with how it turned out! Looks much better than just stamping on the card! I hope my Stepdad likes it as much as I do!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

Let your image shine..

was Lauren's theme for the sketchie over on cmli..I bit the bullet and had another go at the derwent pencils. I used paper stumps and baby oil but think I need a LOT more practice. Minimal embellishments as the sketch said, i used one of my new gg images as none of them have been coloured yet! I think i need some bigger nesties as I only have one large enough to cut the image out!

If any knows how you 'sharpen' your paper stumps, please let me know!!

CMLI Challenge

This week’s challenge was set by the lovely Rosie, we had a sketch to follow and we had the twist of using cardboard! Eeeek! Anyway, as usual the dt came up with some stunning examples and we all heaved a sigh of relief.

I managed to use a cardboard envelope as the boxes I had were too thick and I wouldn’t have been able to put them through the bug.
Note to self.. don’t use extra sticky glue again – I wanted to make sure the image would stick to the cardboard, I used glue one side and pads the other as the cardboard was raised. The glue made the image ripple and bubble so it looks pants now.. Sad smile

Materials used, pink petticoat papers, promarkers , cardboard, spots and dots embossing folder, twine and buttons/feathers from stash.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges;

Crafts and Me - stamp something
Craft your Passion - anything goes
Dream Valley Challenges -stamp something
Papertake Weekly -anything goes
Poodles Parlour - anything goes
Stamp Something -something punched
Shabby Tea Room - embossing

This weeks challenge over at Digi Doodles Shop Challenges is ‘no backing paper’. Oh no! I hear you cry, well you can continue to stroke those papers as we don’t want to see them Smile.

I have used one of the flowers from Doodle Flower set 2 which you can get from here . I have printed it multiple times, reducing the size slightly each time. I have used oranges and love the zesty look of this card.
